The Lord of Miracles
The Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles in Atlantic County focuses on organizing, educating, and supporting the procession of the Purple Crist or Christ of Pachacamilla. We identify ourselves as a Christian entity, so any church that follows Jesus Christ will always be welcome.
The Moreno Christ sees us all as equals, he does not divide us. To achieve a procession of great magnitude, we seek the support of all Atlantic County, not just the Peruvian, Mexican, Colombian, and/or Honduran community, but also from the rest of the American and Christian community.
The story of the image of the Purple Christ, painted by an Angolan slave (Africa) in an adobe wall, is a symbol of faith that has survived two earthquakes, becoming a faith that unites us and reminds us that the presence of Jesus Christ is always with us.
